“You are bringing awareness to something that many would rather sweep under the carpet.”
                                                                                                                        - Bill

“There are so many of us feeling so frustrated and looking for ways to express the grief that we feel."                                                                                                                         - Kathy

“Although I am concerned for this world and worry about war, violent conflict, and even environmental contamination, but still I don’t take action for these problems, just pray.  I wish many people will join you and someday peace may come to every one of us on earth.”                                                                                                                                                            - Eunice

“This project provides a powerful public witness”
                                                                                                                        - Michael

“It would be great if you could do it right across the country.”
                                                                                                                        - Sharon

“I’m moved to create more peace within myself and in my immediate relationships.”
                                                                                                                        - Winn

“Just a few days before, topic of conversation at a family dinner was the lack of outrage/action/anything at all about the state of affairs …my parents wondering why my generation seems so apathetic…how society in general can seem so asleep.”
                                                                                                                        - Anna

“I could not help wonder as I took my daily walk down main street and noticed that some merchants had scrubbed off the  “red line”…perhaps this is the reason we are still in this monetary thirsty war.  We choose to ignore the reality of bloodshed that is occurring in Iraq every day.  We choose to turn the other way as we relish in our luxury, we turn the other cheek like we turn the channel on the TV. I suppose this is why it is not surprising to me that Reality TV is more popular than revolting against such a brutal real war.”
                                                                                                                        - Rebecca

“So utterly thoughtful and inward-pointing. I am keeping the website open and listen to the drip while I work.  It centers me and keeps me aware of the unity of all things.”
                                                                                                                        - Eva

“Stunning in simplicity, love, and offering.”
                                                                                                                        - Janet

“Obviously the redline itself is very provocative on its own, as I proved by silently musing about it this morning as I carried my red strawberries home from the market.”
                                                                                                                        - Hugo

Red as metaphor
Profound quiet
Think what you will
Then act in kind

                                                                         - Forrest

“I was completely unprepared for the chilling effect the red line had on my being - with its irregular drips and smears and frighteningly constant solid push up the sidewalk.  Today, having seen the line and examined the website, my consciousness has been raised in deeply resonant and profound ways.”
                                                                                                                        - Fran

"It made people curious and I was struck by the fact that they asked for and carefully read the hand out.  It was also reassuring to see people decide to walk with you for part of the way.”
                                                                                                                       - Susan

"So moving, so beautifully expressed."
                                                                                                                        - Carol

"Just to let you know.  You are still walking the red line in my heart!"
                                                                                                                        - Eva

"I'll walk with you each day that I can.  Thanks for the open door!"
                                                                                                                        - Kevin, AZ

"After viewing the website I could not stop thinking about you, your project, and the message.  I was haunted by the thoughts.  I truly hope that it grows."
                                                                                                                        - Jeri

"Thanks for doing what you can to raise consciousness."
                                                                                                                        - Catherine

"Your conception is powerful – such integrity in the thoroughness of it."
                                                                                                                        - Patrick

"Awareness is only possible if people express a concern.  Thank you for being concerned and dedicated.  Keep on movin'!"
                                                                                                                        - Margrette

"It seems perfectly sane to take a bloody walk everyday---It's doing something----However when they finally give you permission I would add some white and blue to the mix."                                                                                                                                                                             - Stanton

"Just got the link from the Deep Listening list by Pauline Oliveros! Love this project! It is important, beautiful and more!... Keep up the good work.  I am spreading the word in my part of the world, (Sweden)!"
                                                                                                                        - Bjorn

At a time when organised violence and bloodshed seem to be increasing
everywhere we look, your project is welcome news.
                                                                                                                         - Daniel

"I once lived in an apartment not far from here. A cat lived..."

"The amount of violence in this world is incredible, but what is more incredible is how it is "shrugged off" on such a wide scale. As a country most of us are not outraged when we hear or read about death or violence. I am so naive that I am still amazed that is is much easier to "Fire" than to "Cease Fire." Do most people assume that suicide car bombs are a fact of life? Well you certainly do not fall in with this thinking, and you so eloquently employed the most powerful way to express it... Art."
